The Chronicle has reported the discovery of a ninth pangolin species. This is a crucial discovery for an animal that is currently struggling for survival.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature has estimated that a pangolin is poached every five minues, resulting in a total of over 200,000 each year that are hunted and illegally trafficked.
